Ingredients:
- 3 medium Bosc or Anjou pears (approx. 1.5 lbs), halved and cored
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions:
- Halve the pears lengthwise. Use a melon baller to scoop out the center seeds and tough core. Note: Leaving a little bit of flesh at the bottom prevents the glaze from leaking through.
- Slice a tiny sliver off the rounded bottom of each pear so they sit flat in the baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until the mixture is smooth and the cinnamon is fully integrated.
- Place pears face up in a baking dish.
- Spoon the honey mixture evenly into the center of each pear, allowing some to drizzle down the sides.
- Sprinkle the chopped walnuts into the honey wells.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork and the glaze is bubbling and mahogany colored.
