Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1.5 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and diced into ½-inch cubes
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp cracked black pepper
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Dice the potatoes and onions uniformly and combine the spice blend in a small bowl.
- Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add ground turkey in an even layer and sear undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to develop a brown crust.
- Break the turkey apart with a spatula and cook until no longer pink. Remove turkey from the pan and set aside on a plate.
- In the same pan, add the diced potatoes and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until edges are golden and crisp.
- Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3-5 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- Return the browned turkey to the pan, sprinkle the spice blend evenly over the mixture, and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes to toast the spices.
