Ingredients:
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg
- 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until the batter looks smooth and glossy.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently with a spatula or spoon until just combined; stop the moment you no longer see white streaks of flour.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes until edges are barely golden brown.
- Let cookies set on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
