Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions:
- Combine 450g ground turkey, 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and 1 tbsp chopped parsley in a bowl.
- Gently fold the ingredients together with a fork until the spices are evenly distributed. Note: Over mixing makes the burgers tough.
- Divide the mix into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1.3 cm thick.
- Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
- Heat 2 tbsp avocado oil in a skillet over medium high heat until the oil shimmers.
- Add the patties to the pan carefully.
- Sear for 5 minutes per side until the exterior is mahogany colored. Note: Do not press down on the meat with the spatula.
- Remove from heat once the internal temperature hits exactly 74°C (165°F).
