Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (600g) fresh blueberries
  • 2 tbsp (16g) cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp (12g) lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp (1g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 box (432g) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, toss the blueberries, cornstarch, maple syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon until the berries are evenly coated.
  2. Pour the blueberry mixture into a 9x13-inch baking pan and spread it into a flat, even layer.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the blueberries, leveling the powder with a spatula without pressing it into the fruit.
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix in a grid pattern. Use a fork to move butter into any remaining dry spots, avoiding stirring the layers.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is a deep golden brown.
